Information on Yiayia Magdalene

What's so great about Yiayia? Yiayia was born many years ago in Konstantinople. Her father was a well known merchant who dealt in natural food products, including olives, oilve oils and many Eastern condiments.She learned cooking from her mother, subsequently improving and changing the recipes according to what her taste buds revealed to her. These subtle changes improved the recipes turning the results into a culinary experience of the first degree.

Yiayia's Mother and Father
Fani and George were YiaYia's mother and father. These two were instrumental in making YiaYia's life as good as it could be in the years around the two world wars and subsequently until the end of 20th century. Yiayia became a wonderful cook because she believed cooking can and should be as natural as possible, without using fancy tools and implements.

VIDEO FORMATS: We offer two video formats at present: Real Player and Media player formats. Soon we plan to offer Quicktime as well. The videos supplied on this website are downloadable (so they can be stored locally) and watched over and over while you learn to cook.
